Via ferrata Cjajnik and Košutnikov turn

The sports via ferrata on Cjajnik (1965 m) will not leave you indifferent, as it is a modern sports via ferrata in full vertical, which leads to the top of the rock tower of the same name. In order not to stay hungry for ferratas, the path will lead further over Užnik and the Košuta ridge, to the top of Košutnikov turn (2133 m). We will descend on the ÖTK ferrata and the day will be unforgettable.

The first via ferrata, named FERATA CJAJNIK, is heavier and rated at D difficulty. It is 330 m high, 700 m long and suitable for those who already have quite a bit of experience in such a world. Climbing this via ferrata requires prior knowledge and physical strength.

The second ferrata, named FERATA ÖTK - KOŠUTNIKOV TURN, is lighter and rated at B / C difficulty. It is 130 m high and 800 m long. After that we will make the descent. The biggest attraction of this via ferrata is the suspension Nepalese bridge.

The via ferratas are on the Austrian side of the Karavanke, above Koča pod Košuto (1280 m). Ferata Cjajnik is a modern sports ferrata with an Austrian touch, which will show us the true size of the vertical. It takes place in a steep and open wall, where there is excellent rock, a taut steel wire and a small number of staples. The summit is the most difficult, but it also offers the possibility of a detour. From the top we will descend to Cijanikova škrbina and continue to the top of Užnik (2079 m). From there we will follow the ridge to the east, in the direction of Košutnikov turn (2133 m), where we will see a turnoff for the descending ferrata ÖTK (ferrata of the Austrian Tourist Club). The biggest attraction is the 30 m long suspension bridge in the middle of the via ferrata. After the via ferrata, we will descend back to Koča pod Košuto (1280 m) along the normal route.

For the via ferrata, we recommend a basic self-protection set - a helmet, a climbing harness and a self-protection system. If you do not have your own equipment, you can also rent it from our agency.
