A multi-day hike in the land of the Wilder Kaiser and the “Bergdoktor” is waiting for you to join him.
The name 'Wilder Kaiser' literally means 'wild emperor' and it is said that if you look closely you can make out the silhouette of the emperor's face in this majestic mountain range in the east of Tyrol. Some say it's Charlemagne, others say it's Francis I or Emperor Maximilian. However, the true story behind the name is still unclear today and has given rise to many myths and legends over the centuries about this massif between Kufstein and St. Johann in Tyrol.
Regardless of the history, the Wilder Kaiser certainly exudes a majestic, indeed, imperial charm as it overlooks a dense mountain pine forest that gives way to stretches of lush green meadows and pastures below. The region's four villages – Ellmau, Going, Scheffau and Söll – lie at the southern end of the 'Koase', as the chain is known to locals, and are an ideal starting point for summer hikes in the surrounding nature reserve and along sections of the Eagle Trail.

DAY 1: Mojstrana - Going hüttling - Grüttenhutte (1620 m)
After an early start and drive from Slovenia to Going and Hütling and a short stop in a village, the climb to the imposing and highest mountain hut in the Wilder Kaiser mountains follows. We climb through the forest, pastures, past several small mountains all the way to Grüttenhutte. This day is a day for views of the nearby villages and hills and the mountains in the distance. In the nearby hills, there is a very famous ski resort on Kitzbühl in winter, and there are smaller ski resorts all the way to the village of Söll. The farther the view goes, the higher the high mountains all the way to Grossvenediger are in sight. This is followed by transport to the accommodation.

Martin Gruber is now a recognized character that you can meet in Going, Söll, Ellmau and elsewhere, so fans of this series will definitely come to your account. If the skilift is open, we will drive to the higher mountains, take a short walk and see the surroundings from a higher perspective. This is followed by a drive to Slovenia and arrival in the evening.
