Via ferrata to the fourth highest Slovenian mountain
The fourth highest Slovenian mountain, Mangart (2678 m), offers without a doubt the most daring and airy via ferrata in the Julian Alps - the Via Italiana ferrata. It offers beautiful views and exposed places that end at the Mangart saddle, and the Slovenian route leads you to the top of the mountain.
Difficulty

Height difference

Duration
6-8 h
Length
650 m
The first via ferrata, named VIA ITALIANA, is more difficult and is rated at C difficulty. It is 450 m high and 550 m long. Climbing this ferrata requires prior knowledge and physical strength.
The second secured route, called SLOVENSKA POT, is easier and rated at B difficulty. It is 350 m high, 450 m long and also suitable for those who are still training in the rock world.
We start the tour from below the Mangart saddle (2055 m), which can be reached by car. The ascent to the saddle follows, and from there we descend in the direction of the Nogara bivouac (1800 m) and back under the wall, where the Via Italiana ferrata begins. With the help of staples and steel wires, we climb the steep wall, and is very airy below us. The rock is great, the views are phenomenal. The ferrata brings us back to the saddle, and from there we continue along the Slovenian secured route, which runs along the distinct Mangart ravine, which leads us to the top of Mangart (2678 m). Back to the Mangart saddle we descend along an easier Italian route.
For the tour, we recommend a basic self-protection set - a helmet, a climbing harness and a self-protection system. If you do not have your own equipment, you can also rent it from our agency.
The guidance is for adults and children from the age of 12 and a height of 150 cm. The guided tour starts by appointment, and with our transport we will pick you up in front of your room, apartment or hotel. We take care of all the necessary technical equipment.
