Triglav ski touring traverse

A superior experience and an endurance test in the white embrace of our Julian Alps, far away from the noise and concrete. Just you, your skis and an unusual backpack on the way from Vogel ski resort across Triglav seven lake valley to Krma valley. 

It is a three - day ski touring trip from Vogel to the Krma valley, through the valley of the Seven Lakes, over Hribarice pass to Velo Polje and through the Bohinj saddle to the Krma valley. Priceless. The Triglav ski touring traverse is the only multi - day ski touring tour in Slovenia. Every touring skier should ski it at least once in their lifetime.

The Triglav ski touring traverse was created in the 1970s, marked with winter markings on high poles and signposts on trees. The markings have not been maintained since then, many are broken and the orientation is far from easy in some parts. The area around Komna plateau in particular is a real labyrinth, where serious problems can occur in the fog. If you are not with a mountain guide who knows the route, you can quickly find yourself in a bind.

Since this is a ski touring tour, where the guest also wants to ski, the guides have modified the 'classic traverse' into a traverse whit more SKIING, assuming that the guest is physically well prepared for walking.

DURATION

DAY 1: Vogel (1510 m) – under Šija (1800 m) – Planina zadnji Vogel (1424 m) – Konjsko sedlo (1782 m) – under Podrta gora (1850 m) – Planina Govnjač (1474 m) –  Komna hut (1520 m).

DAY 2: Komna hut (1520 m) – Glava za bajto (2150 m) – Lopučnica (1550 m) – Seven Lakes hut (1685 m) – Bivouac at Prehodavci (2070 m).

DAY 3: Bivouac at Prehodavci (2070 m) - Kanjavec (2568 m) – Hribarice pass (2358 m) – Velska valley (1750 m) – Bohinj saddle (1973 m) – Krma valley (980 m) - Radovna (780 m).

DAY 4: with climb on Triglav

First two days are the same.

3rd and 4th day: Bivouac on Prehodavcih (2070 m) – Kanjavec (2568 m) – Hribarice (2358 m) – (Velska valley 1750 m) – Konjsko sedlo (2020 m) – Kredarica- lodging (2515 m)  –  Triglav (2864 m)  – Krma (980 m) - Radovna (780 m).

Usage of ski touring equipment and an avalanche safety set is mandatory for the tour. If you do not have your own equipment, we will provide it to you for the tour. The avalanche safety set is included in the price. You can rent a ski touring set at our agency.

The tour is intended for adults and children over the age of 15.
